A&C Riverside Hotel

Senior Thesis Project located in the historic Domino Sugar Refinery. The project embraces the buildings existing exterior architecture, while the interior of the space modernizes the space by using the signature rounded arches that adorn the facade of the building. The colors of the project are based off of a collection of Mark Rothko paintings that seamlessly transition from space to space.

I was asked to create a specialty store located in Soho. Space requirements were a store between 3000-4000 sF. I created a specialty book store that was focused on and celebrated queer art, fashion and culture.

Former Lobster restaurant in Chelsea Market remodeled into Polish Restaurant. East Europe Bauhaus Inspired design using the traditional colors of Poland and the traditional color palette of Bauhaus, and Bauhaus-inspired furniture and fixtures.

Calvin Klein Collection has asked me to redo their Flagship store on Madison Ave. I used the stepping motion in the space to match the brands new aesthetic, as well as adding luxurious textured materials. A neutral palate of colors not to over-do their new colorful designs.

located in the basement of a Department Store, and create a central stair. Conceptually used contrasting colors, patterns and textures to create visual interest, but also to highlight mannequins and products.

Mount Sinai in the upper east side asked for me to layout the hospital floor and design an extended stay suite. My concept for this design was to fuse together hospitality and the hospital. Creating a comfortable and stress free environment for healing.

Kyle Birnbach is an Interior Designer, and has been working as a professional in the industry since 2018. Kyle went to Hudson Valley and obtained an Associates Degree in Fine Arts in 2015. He then went on to the Fashion Institute of Technology and obtained his Associates Degree in Interior Design in 2017, and later completed his Bachelors Degree in Interior Design in 2019. Kyle’s personal design style blends modern with some traditional elements, his education in fine arts has helped him to understand color theory to create interesting and new color schemes. His goal is to create uncommon interiors that create a positive impact on his clients experience. He has an eye for quality materials and furniture, and has an exceptional eye for style, Kyle Birnbach has proved himself as an inventive designer. He wants you to experience and feel something when you walk into the spaces that he designs. Kyle currently resides in New York City.
